Are You Pushing a Rope?

September 4th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Leadership

In every network marketing business, there comes a time when you find yourself wanting success for your people more than they want it for themselves. Or, maybe you’re depending on them to come through and achieve the next status level, or enroll more people. If you’ve developed a large enough network marketing organization, I’m sure you’ve had those months when the size of your check was riding on one guy doing what he said he was going to do.

So you push him, and push him to get to the next step…

And, he bails on you. He leaves you high and dry! This is called ‘pushing a rope’. No matter how hard you try, and how much you want it, you simply cannot push a rope. If they don’t want it for themselves, you’re fighting a losing battle.

So, what do you do when you find yourself with the urge to push that same rope next month?

Get someone new! Get someone hungry! Get someone who will pull the rope in the same direction with you so everyone can advance together.

Every network marketing group has dead weight somewhere. Don’t try to drag them along kicking and screaming, but leave them where they are, and move on!

Why Push The Rope?

Can you really motivate others to succeed?

Role PlayingMost of us, when we begin our network marketing business, have no clue what we’re in for. We’re not prepared for the objections, the rejections, and the attitudes we get from people we are sharing with. That’s why role playing with your new enrollee is a MUST!

Role Playing is the best training tool you have to get your new people ready for what they’ll face. Besides, we need to prepare them so they don’t get discouraged at the first “No” they get. So, what’s the best way to do a role playing training?

Role Playing Training 101

If you have enough people who want to particpate, it’s easier and more efficient to do a role playing conference call. This way 10, 20 or more people can benefit from the practice conversations. It’s just plain more fun on a conference call or in a large group setting. …Continue Reading Role Playing is an Effective Network Marketing Training Tool

Dealing with Enrollees Who are MIA

I’m sure you’ve seen it before…You enroll a new person into your network marketing business who’s excited and motivated to get started right away and make lots of money. And, then they don’t pick up the phone or return your calls. No one has seen or heard from them. They are Missing in Action (MIA)!

Here’s how I deal with the absent enrollee…

I call them a few times, at different times to give them the benefit of the doubt. People have lives and families and emergencies, so we have to give them a chance. After a week has passed without a word, I switch to email.

New Enrollee? Get Joined at the Hip!

August 11th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Duplication

You know the rush that comes from enrolling a new person into your network marketing business! Now you have the awesome resposibility of holding their hand, walking them through their first days and weeks to create their first story and reach their first income goal.Joined at the Hip

That means you should be joined at the hip with your new enrollee. I know a guy who takes this concept as far as he can go with it - he moves in with them! That’s right…he flies to the other side of the country, moves in with them for a month, and makes sure they work on building the business every hour and every day they’re awake! It’s intense, but this guy also makes about $100K/month and has broken every advancement record in our company. And, his personal enrollees have advanced faster than any others in the history of the company. Results speak for themselves!

The best way to create duplication is to show the new enrollee the ropes right away. That way, they learn it once, the learn to do it the right way, and from then on they will teach their new enrollees the same thing. Duplication at its finest!
